As a fan of Before Sunrise I've been looking forward to visiting this place for years, decades actually, and it did not disappoint. Spent a couple of hours here during which time I and my wife enjoyed apple strudel, cheese strudel, sachertorte and saltzburger cheesecake, two white wine and sodas, two alcoholic coffees and a litre of house red for €70. We loved the Cafe Sperl. The service was fantastic, friendly and attentive wait staff. The food was delicious and the Cafe has genuine history and atmosphere. Not too many tourists or Tik Tok types. We tried the smoked salmon and potato salad, (the yummiest we had in Vienna) the cheese strudel, great hot chocolate and home made lemonade. The Schnitzel looked really good too. Definitely recommend.
Charming traditional Viennese cafe will plenty of old world charm. Sadly this is where the charm ended. We agree with many of the reviews, the front of house staff, are standoffish, rude, like they don’t care and simply wish they were somewhere else.
