Very traditional restaurant in the city centre, good service and tasty food. Great carpaccio variation starter. Excellent wine list with some good Austrian wines, we enjoyed a blaufrankisch by reumann. Interior quite bright and the room we were in was pine panelled, a bit reminiscent of ski lodge.
Zum weißen Rauchfangkehrer is a quietly iconic address for classic Viennese cooking, where wood-panelled rooms and attentive formality set the tone without feeling museum-like. Expect impeccably executed staples—Tafelspitz, seasonal game, and carefully judged sauces—served with the kind of old-school finesse that still defines the city’s relationship with food. It’s the Vienna of tradition, kept crisp and current.
