Café Sperl

Café Sperl is Vienna’s coffeehouse culture in its most unhurried, intact form—marble-topped tables, dark wood panelling, and a quiet sense that time has agreed to slow down. Come for a properly made coffee and classic pastries, then linger over newspapers or a game of billiards, as artists and everyday Viennese have done for generations. In July and August, Sundays are reserved for closure—very much in keeping with the café’s devotion to rhythm over rush.
