Το Café Dommayer στο Χίτσινγκ ενώνει τη βιεννέζικη καφενειακή παράδοση με μια αίσθηση αστικής ηρεμίας, σε χώρους που διατηρούν την κομψότητα μιας άλλης εποχής χωρίς να χάνουν τη σημερινή τους ζωντάνια. Cafe wasn’t crowded as it was located away from the main tourist crowd. Outdoor mostly shaded seating in front of the cafe and service was good. Cakes were ok, had better ones elsewhere. The Himbeer royal torte’s base was a little soft for me as i was expecting it to be crisp it being a tart base (could have been soften by the raspberry juice as i visited around 4pm). The café itself isn’t anything special, and the service was quite slow. However, the cakes were excellent and definitely worth trying.
Great food and superb decor! We had the traditional austrian consommé with slice crepes and the snitzel was perfect, a glass of Riesling to go with it, just perfect. Staff is accommodating and prompt. We went after to buy a few boxes of chocolates from their shop inside, they have different flavours and the chocolate is simply divine.
