Café Museum je učebnicí vídeňské kavárenské kultury: střídmá elegance, pomalé tempo a ten nenápadný řád, v němž se dá s novinami a šálkem kávy snadno ztratit na celé odpoledne. Od roku 1899 tu mezi Operou a Secesí posedávali umělci i myslitelé a dodnes je to místo, kde se tradice „Herr Ober“ přirozeně potkává s městským kulturním životem — třeba při pravidelných literárních čteních. Na stolech se vedle kávových specialit objevují klasiky vídeňské kuchyně a pečlivě připravené Mehlspeisen, přesně v duchu současné Vídně: kultivovaně, bez okázalosti.
We ordered an egg Benedict, the traditional Viennese breakfast and the special - Florentine toast. The food was amazing, especially the egg Benedict. The poached eggs were perfectly made and the ham goes really well with it. The Viennese breakfast was okay, not too special but good enough. On the pricier side, this lovely café has plenty of outdoor seating when the weather is nice, and a great menu. The food is fantastic, and the service is prompt and welcoming. If budget isn’t an issue, it’s definitely worth trying local specialties like goulash or schnitzel.
The cappuccino is really good, with creamy milk foam that's rich and slightly sweet. Also, The Kaiserschmarren is sweet but not excessively so, fluffy, and perfectly matched with honey sauce—and we enjoyed it thoroughly. Though slightly pricey, it’s well worth a visit.
