Had the ‘Scheiterhaufen’, possibly the best dessert of life. Yes it’s €12.50 but it’s huge and you could definitely share it with another person. Although I had it by myself and had no regrets (never thought I could justify a desert that expensive). Also there was live piano music and the interior was stunning. My friend had the Kaiserschmarn which was nice but much less impressive.

We had a lovely lunch for two at Café Diglas. The food was delicious — the goulash soup was rich and comforting, and the chicken schnitzel was perfectly cooked. We enjoyed two coffee specialties: a classic Wiener Melange (similar to a cappuccino) and the elegant Maria Theresia coffee. For dessert, we tried their signature Kaiserschmarrn, fluffy, caramelized pieces of pancake served with powdered sugar and a fruity…

Very nice and very good food. Not very touristic, better than the other cafes in that area. 200m from Saint Stephan Cathedral. Prices are normal for the city centre. It is from 1875 but very renovated, so it doesn't feel that old but still very pleasant. Goulash recommended.
